December 2022, the night before Sinterklaas.
Plans on creating a new testlab serverfarm require a new domainname.
Relatively cheap, not to common and preferably not making any sense.

Wait4it.cyou was born.

Beste Sint,
Ik ben het hele jaar lief geweest.
Oke, meestal tenminste.
Soms.
Laat ook maar.
Ik koop het zelf wel.

Now, almost to the day 2 years later, the testlab is finally getting somewhat into shape.
After several complete restarts and a few month wait on Ubuntu’s 24.04 release the first servers have seen the light of day and are operational. Firewall, hosting controlpanel, nfs for shared storage, dns, proxy, Apache and Nginx webservers, db (all dual or more clustered nodes, for loadbalancing and/or high availability) are hosting the first few things. Not only for testlab purposes but also more or less productionwise for friends and family.

If Microsoft ever does applications for Linux it means I’ve won.

Linus Torvalds

Still a long way to go.
Finetuning the operational servers, adding more functionality.
And expanding the farm with at least a clustered mailserver.
